ankle-extension-latest.jsonis live. Unpacked developer installs still require downloading and reloading the new folder. - macOS app: the native updater reads
ankle-app-latest.json, verifies HTTPS, status, byte count, SHA-256, safe archive paths, bundle ID, version, and code signature, then stages a rollback-safe replacement. - Widget: use immutable versioned embed URLs with SRI for stable deployments. The floating routes track the current build for hosts that deliberately opt into automatic updates.
